Preparing for Thanksgiving, the kids did a couple fun projects in school today. They also had a big feast in lieu of regular lunch time.
Lilian's hat reads, "I'm thankful for...brother, mom, and dad" She told me, "I wish that there was four places to write what we are thankful for because I also wanted to say I am thankful for Jesus Christ."
Braison's hat reads..."I'm thankful for toys and dad and mom" That's our Braison :)
They also made macaroni turkeys. Now, it's no school for a whole week! Yay!

Long Holiday Weekend
**This blog is being created due to overwhelming requests (ok, only one. Uncle Ken). And, he may well be my only reader, so who am I to not listen to my public?**
We had a nice, low key Thanksgiving dinner at our house this year. Here is what the feast (which I single-handedly prepared and served, thank you very much) looked like:
Ok, this isn't the actual feast I prepared, but it could be my feast's twin. I didn't capture my own photo. Sorry. It was great to have my mom, John, Grandma, Grandad, Grandma Barbara, Grandma Shirley, and Uncle Mike (John's brother from Missouri who happened to be passing through town) to dinner. We are so lucky to have such wonderful people in our lives and are so grateful for each and every one of them.
The day after, in lieu of shopping with the crazies, we went the the Boise Festival of Trees where Lilian's dance class had a performance. It was adorable.
We had a great couple of days. Then, the flu hit. Hard. So, now we are trying to recover. So much for a nice, productive, long weekend. Oh well, at least we are getting some good cuddling time in!

Thanksgiving
Well, we have had a wonderful Thanksgiving day. We went to our Uncle Jay and Aunt Kelly's house for a wonderful dinner. And, like a nerd, I forgot to grab the camera, so we have no photos of anything, except for the desserts that I made to take to dinner.
The traditional pumpkin pie. Made with fresh pumpkins, not canned stuff.
These are french vanilla/pumpkin cupcakes with caramel in the center and cream cheese frosting. *These were a HUGE hit with Uncle Jay :o)
And, a Jack Daniels Pecan pie.
Wow, after reviewing this post, I am really sad that I didn't take any photos during the day. I guess I will try to remember everything next year!
Hope everyone has had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
