The kids started their two weeks of swimming lessons today.
They both did so well! And, it is even more fun because they are in class with their cousins, Payton and Chloee, and their friend Palmer. It is going to be a fun two weeks!

Chickens
So far, the kids have both been very good about helping with the chicks. Good news is, they are still alive. All of them. They are getting bigger by the day.
It is pretty funny when the kids are chatting with them and they say, "You guys are safe now, but soon it will be OFF WITH YOUR HEADS!"

Singing In The Rain
For the Dance Across the USA, Lilian's dance class was representing Seattle. Doing a dance to a Singing In The Rain medley of songs. She did so well and looked adorable.
I ordered the video of the production and will post it as soon as it arrives. Dance is over for the summer, but Lilian is already anxious to pick it up again in the fall.

Class of 2026
Is that right? It hardly seems possible that Braison and Lilian will be starting kindergarten this year. Or that they graduated from pre-kindergarten today. Bittersweet.
Since they are in different classes, they were also in different graduations. Lilian graduated this morning.
Lilian did so well this year, her teachers said that she will have no problems next year in kindergarten. Her social skills are unmatched, imagine that :o) We are so very proud of her!
Braison's graduation was held a little later in the day.
Braison is reading at an advanced level, he is advanced in math, and everything else. So, no worries that he won't be ready for kindergarten. We are so proud of our little man!

Videos
So, I have been playing around with some software and made little videos of each of the kids first 5 years. I'm an amateur, so cut me a little slack when critiquing.
Shenanigan Recap
A recap of our last few weeks....
Soccer wrapped up, and everyone survived. Barely. Grandpa captured some wonderful shots during some of the games, I will devote a whole post to soccer and include them very soon.
The sun FINALLY came out and warmed up things long enough for us to enjoy some time outside, running through the sprinklers.
We celebrated Mother's Day. It was a wonderful day full of awesome surprises and lots and lots of love.
We also celebrated this woman. Who turned 93 years young. As you can see, we celebrated in style.
The weather has been perfect for getting in some quality hot tub relaxation time too.
And last, but most certainly not least, we got to see some sights that you can only see if you are in exactly the right place at exactly the right time.

Do you know...
Do you know Lilian? I mean, really really know Lilian? If not, you can just enjoy the photos. If so, please try to keep your heart beating while looking at what I am about to show you...
Yes, those are real, live dogs.

Which Came First...
The chicken or the egg?
In our case, it was the chicken. Today we built a chicken coop to house the newest members of our backyard....
If you put on your spectacles, you can see the six chicks huddled in the bottom right corner. This breed of chicken is especially good for laying eggs (perfect) and eating (perfect). The plan is to let them lay eggs for a year (maybe two because they are so young right now) then take these ones to the fryer and get another batch to start the cycle over again. The kids know this and understand the plan. They are excited for fresh eggs and chicken when the time comes. They have given the chicks the following names; Orange Blossom, Prancer, Marker Girl, Dancer, Chick-a-Dee, and Crispy.
Both kids are excited about the responsibility of collecting eggs and giving the chickens fresh water and food. We'll see how long that lasts!
