Easter Weekend

The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name. Luke 24:46-47
Our church had a program and egg hunt on Saturday for the kids.  The performance was a lot of fun and then we did the balloon release.  It was crazy winding out there, imagine that.
We didn't stay for the egg hunt, there were a lot of people and we had a couple of pretty hungry/tired kids.  So, we went to lunch then home to color eggs instead.
Then, Easter morning we got up, checked out our little loot from the bunny and got ready for church.
After church we headed to Ron's mom's house for a wonderful lunch and egg hunt with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Sydney, and Aunt Jen.  The kids had a blast.  Then it was nap time for all of us.  We had a very nice dinner at my mom's house to finish off the weekend.  Nana, Papa, Grandma, Grandad, and Grandma Shirley made our Easter dinner/birthday dinner (for John) a great one.
After our hundredth egg hunt, we were able to relax and visit.  Thank you everyone for making our Easter so fabulous.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA!!

Friday Funnies

Braison: Daddy, guess who is coming to our house after dinner?
Daddy: I have no idea, who?
Braison: I will give you a hint.  They are old and their names start with "G"
Lilian: I know! I know! It is Grandma and Grandad!!
Braison: Yep! Sure is!

Hippity Hoppity...

...Easter's on its way!

**Yes, both kids were too scared to sit beside the Easter Bunny, so Grandma had to be a buffer.

Friday Funnies

Mommy: Guess who is coming this weekend?
Braison: The leprechauns?!?
Mommy: No, not yet.  But, Uncle Tyler will be here! Isn't that more fun than the leprechauns?
Braison (pouting): No, not really.

********************

Lilian (speaking to Grandad): Mommy is old.  Daddy is real old.  You are knocking on Jesus' door!

Muay Thai

Muay Thai (Thai: มวยไทย, RTGS: Muai Thai, IPA: [mūɛj tʰāj]) is a combat sport from Thailandthat uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. It is similar to otherIndochinese kickboxing systems, namely pradal serey from Cambodia, tomoi from Malaysia, lethwei from Myanmar and muay Lao from Laos. Descended from muay boran, muay thai is Thailand's national sport.[1][2][3][4]
The word muay derives from the Sanskrit mavya which means "to bind together". Muay thai is referred to as the "Art of Eight Limbs" or the "Science of Eight Limbs" because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight "points of contact", as opposed to "two points" (fists) in boxing and "four points" (hands and feet) used in other more regulated combat sports, such as kickboxing, boxing, and savate

A few weeks ago, Braison started a Muay Thai class.  He was shy at first, but then warmed up pretty quickly and has been enjoying himself.  I only have a couple of cell phone photos, but I am sure I will have better photos soon.

This is one of Braison running across the chests of some of the older kids.  It is teaching Braison balance and the older kids endurance.

We think this will be wonderful for him.  And, Ron will be joining him soon.  What a great way for males to bond :o)

Discovery Center

Ron had to work today, so the kids and I went to the science center that we have here in town.  Braison and Lilian are obsessed with Sid the Science Kid, so they were very anxious to explore a real science center like Sid does.  We had a lot of fun!

She pulled herself up almost to the top...about 9 feet up!

Making things go "boom"

The big bubble maker...one of the favorite things!
They are already talking about when they get to go back again.  A hit for sure!

Be Mine

We had a pretty low key Valentine's Day, just the way we like it.

We started out with heart shaped donuts.
For preschool we made Valentine's for all of the kids' friends.  These are the ones that Braison took:
Those are crayons that me melted into hearts
   These are what Lilian took:
These are friendship bracelets.
We also made cupcakes for everyone.
And, I was spoiled by Ron and the kids with a wonderful new necklace!
We had a nice quiet dinner at home and then went out for ice cream afterwards.  We had taken the kids to Build-A-Bear last weekend, I will post photos tomorrow for the wordless Wednesday :o)

Silver City...Almost

We set out to head up to Silver City today, but had to turn back about 5 miles out due to bad roads.  So, we took a detour a little further down the mountain.
Ron and Sky climbing rocks

Poor muddy car on top of the mountain

Beautiful views
Maybe next time we will make it all the way!
